2010: It’s Your Business Program

The Chamber, the City of Winston-Salem and Southern Community Bank and Trust present: 2010: It’s Your Business, a monthly series of programs showcasing local businesses and providing information to help local businesses grow. The series is co-hosted by the Chamber and the City, sponsored by Southern Community Bank, and will be filmed for broadcast on WSTV-13. The series features Monthly Small Business Forums, each focusing on a topic of concern to local small businesses. These seminars help small businesses market, comply with personnel and tax laws, and address key issues that are limiting their growth. These small business forums are held in City Council Chambers to encourage citizens to come to their local government offices.
By working together in partnership, the City, the Chamber and Southern Community Bank and Trust are greatly expanding the number of businesses that can benefit from the information provided during the Chamber programs. More successful businesses that expand will create more jobs which are especially needed at this time. The monthly small business programs are held the first Thursday of each month from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. at City Hall.

January 7 – "Marketing: A View from the Rough"
February 4 – "Social Media, Social Marketing: An Executive Overview"
March 4 – "Financial Services: Money Connections for Small Business"
April 1 – "Stimulus Package: Doing Business with the Federal & State Government"
May 6 – "How to Navigate City Hall” presented by: City of WS – Ken Millett, small business ombudsman
June 3 – "Tips for Doing Business with Large Companies"
August 5 – "Marketing Your Business in Tough Times: Survive and Thrive in a Changing Economy"
September 2 – "Doing Business with the City of Winston-Salem"
October 7 – "Networking Tools for Your Business"
November 4 – "Social Media: More Ways to Use Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter"
December 2 – "Sales, Sales, and More Sales for Small Businesses"
