The Paul Ciener Blood Drive will be held at and sponsored by Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden, 215 S. Main Street, Kernersville on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 2:30 pm until 7:00 pm. All presenting donors will be entered into a drawing for a $1,500 gift card for a vacation getaway. Learn about the travel route that led tea from China to that cold glass of sweet tea; what cultures drink tea and how it has affected American history; what are the health benefits associated with types of tea and how do they affect your life; what is better (Orange Pekoe or Earl Grey), and more. Main Street, Kernersville, on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:30 am for a Brunch and Lecture with Douglas Thomas, owner of Twin Maples (a historic property of nearly 400 acres dating from 1740 in Salisbury, Connecticut). Twin Maples has 40 acres planted with wildflowers. Social hour will begin at 10:30 followed by brunch and Ms. Thomas’ lecture. The cost is $65 per person or $455 for a table of 8. Space is limited. The cost is $40 per person and includes appetizers, beer and wine. Please reserve by May 9, 2014. Then join us on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm for “My Favorite 100 . . . Main Street, Kernersville on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm for the 3rd Annual Trial Plant and Landscape Festival hosted by Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden and North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association. Vendors and exhibitors from the nursery and landscape industry across North Carolina will be selling their plants, gardening products and services to the public.
