The American Red Cross needs volunteers to respond to disaster scenes and assist those affected. Disaster Action Team volunteers respond to local disaster scenes such as home fires as assigned within two hours. Volunteers help meet the needs for shelter and food, complete forms, and provide referrals. You will be asked to communicate your availability on a regular basis. Training and attendance at meetings are required.

To become a Red Cross volunteer, you will need to complete an online application, online orientation, select your interests, read and agree to Red Cross policies, and complete a background check. To learn more about volunteer opportunities and start the application process, visit www.redcross.org/volunteer. Volunteers are needed in all areas of the Red Cross.
