Using the great lodges of the national parks as inspiration, River Birch Lodge was lovingly built by Eddie & Michelle Schapira and Scott & Brenda Gerding in 2005. With towering ceilings of 100 year old heart pine, large stone fireplaces, a comfortable patio, family friendly bar, and a massive signature handcrafted chandelier, River Birch Lodge draws on natural mountain grandeur to provide its guests with a comfortable and casual dining experience.

River Birch offers a variety of menu choices for its guests….from delicious sandwiches, salads, pizzas and house ground burgers to lodge-inspired salmon, duck, steak, pork, pasta and trout. River Birch also offers chef-created features using seasonal local ingredients, with many items being grilled over a hickory wood fire. An extensive wine list, craft cocktails and beer taps are also offered. Brunch is a wonderful choice on Saturdays and Sundays featuring a customer favorite…Eggs Benedict.

In order to provide a more intimate and private dining experience for those guests who prefer one, a private dining room was added to River Birch Lodge in 2013. The Canoe Room provides space for up to 35 people for meetings, celebrations and family get togethers. It also opens to a private patio, so larger groups are accommodated using both spaces together, which makes a lovely venue for rehearsal dinners and other wedding related events.

As a local and independently owned restaurant, River Birch Lodge strives to give each and every guest a mountain casual dining experience that includes excellent food and gracious service, all in a unique and comfortable atmosphere. As River Birch celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary, the owners would like to thank the Winston-Salem community for making River Birch Lodge a neighborhood tradition for the past 10 years! They would also like to say a special thank you to the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce and the Twin City Quarter for selecting River Birch Lodge as a recipient of the Salute to Business Award!
