“The Chamber’s Senior Academy Program is an essential tool in the community arsenal of volunteerism for it provides needed support to students who can succeed but need our guidance and encouragement at a critical juncture in young adulthood.”

Business Retention and Expansion

The Chamber works with area companies to help with business issues or problems and to assist with expansion plans. Over the past five years, the Chamber has worked directly with more than 20 existing companies to help them retain and add jobs. While many of these companies will not disclose their expansions, we can document that they have created about 2,000 jobs and retained nearly 9,000 jobs over the past five years. National statistics show that 80% of net new jobs created in a community comes from our existing businesses.

The department's primary services include:

Direct Expansion and Retention Assistance
Working with companies planning to expand or relocate within Forsyth County and assisting them with site identification, workforce issues, financing, negotiating incentives, and more.

Gathering Information
Identifying the needs of the business community and working to ensure that those needs are being met.

Industry Visits
Calling on businesses in Forsyth County to get their views on the local business climate and helping with specific business issues or problems.

Resource Clearing House
Linking businesses, according to their needs, to available resources in the community.
