“The Chamber’s Senior Academy Program is an essential tool in the community arsenal of volunteerism for it provides needed support to students who can succeed but need our guidance and encouragement at a critical juncture in young adulthood.”

Academy of Finance

The Academy of Finance is a joint effort between Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and the National Academy Foundation.

The Academy is a “school within a school” that requires students to take academically challenging courses in business, social studies, math and language arts. Internships in the financial services industry give students an opportunity to see their classroom lessons applied in the workplace. Locally, the program is currently in East Forsyth and West Forsyth high schools.

The Chamber assists this effort by connecting local businesses and businesspeople with the program and its students. The Academy of Finance Committee finds ways to make the program more effective and find students internship opportunities.

The Committee meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber’s offices. We encourage you to get involved and develop the future workforce of our financial services industry.

For more information, please contact Jacki Ray with the Chamber at 336-728-9920.
