Forsyth County has applied to become a North Carolina Certified Work Ready Community. This is an important step in our efforts to recruit and retain talent, educate and prepare the workforce for today’s jobs, and grow our economy.
The Work Ready Community initiative provides a framework that:
- Links workforce development to education
- Aligns with the economic development needs of communities
- Matches individuals to jobs based on skills
In 2018, the Winston-Salem Chamber has supported local companies in over 70 million dollars of expansion projects bringing in more than 700 new jobs, and opportunities like these will only increase by becoming a certified Work Ready Community.
Forsyth County’s endeavor to meet this goal will be called Work Ready Forsyth. In order to become certified and therefore more competitive, stakeholders must provide input.
Please lend your support. Add your company name to this important effort by filling out the form below. We must receive the support of 225 local employers to become certified – so please complete this quick task today to help us achieve this goal.
