What is Emerging Leaders?
Emerging Leaders is a program that provides opportunities and support to a small cohort of high-potential professionals to prepare them to grow into meaningful leadership roles across Forsyth County. The program builds upon existing leadership and professional development offerings by focusing on community impact, systems-level thinking, and service-oriented leadership. Sessions will cover important topics such as governance, economic development, talent pipelines, and building inclusive economies.
Who is an Emerging Leader?
The ideal emerging leader recognizes Forsyth County’s opportunity for growth and impact and is motivated to serve the community through leadership. They will be:
Leadership Oriented
- Demonstrated leadership experience professionally, civically, or through volunteer service
- Completion of previous leadership or professional development programs
- Clear intent to grow leadership skills and increase leadership responsibility in the community
Community Focused
- Active or emerging commitment to Forsyth County through civic, nonprofit, or business engagement
- Desire to contribute to long-term economic vitality and inclusive growth
- Understanding of Forsyth County’s current opportunities and challenges
Program Details
Cohort Size: 10 participants annually. Apply by invitation only.
Time Commitment: 5 two-hour sessions over the course of two months
Program Cost: $1,500 Member Cost | $2,000 Non-Member Cost
