Smith Phillips Building Supply

Headquartered in Winston-Salem, Smith Phillips Building Supply is locally owned and currently operates two locations with approximately 50 employees. The larger facility in Winston-Salem houses the management offices, retail store, lumber yard, millwork operation and cut-to-size operation. A branch retail store is located in Statesville.

Smith Phillips offers a full line of building materials for residential and commercial construction including lumber, doors and windows, roofing, engineered wood, decking, insulation, cabinets and millwork as well as prompt job-site delivery. As a member of Lumbermens Merchandising Corporation (LMC), Smith Phillips has the combined buying power of over 1200 independent lumberyards and home centers, assuring its customers excellent quality and price.

Smith Phillips was established in 1880, incorporated in 1904 as Smith Phillips Lumber Company and purchased by Mickey Boles in 1978. Under the leadership of CEO Mickey Boles, President Christopher Yenrick and CFO David St. Clair, the company has maintained the founders’ philosophy of giving back to the community that supports the business. Through the years, Smith Phillips and its management team have actively supported local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Brenner Children’s Hospital, the SECU Family House and local schools and universities. Smith Phillips has also been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce for many years.
