The Wyndham Championship is the Piedmont Triad’s unofficial end-of-summer party set for Aug. 14-19, 2018. The tournament features fantastic fan amenities in addition to world-class PGA TOUR golf. A two-time winner of the PGA TOUR’s “Most Fan-Friendly Event,” the Wyndham Championship constantly strives to improve its fan experience – a plethora of free fan amenities is open to all tournament patrons.

Some tournament amenities are the Sunbrella Sun Deck, an elevated fan complex near the ninth green with concessions and shaded seating, the Sunbrella Comfort Zone at the 12th green, two Tito’s Vodka Lounges, the BB&T Fan Pavilion, a Military Outpost off No. 10 fairway, and the Front Porch at the Wyndham – a huge open-air tent featuring upscale concessions and the tournament’s signature cocktail, the Wyndham Welcome. At the main entrance, the Wyndham offers its massive Ralph Lauren Merchandise Pavilion with bag check facilities as well as the Kids Adventure Zone, which includes bungee jumping, rock climbing, and face painting.

Contested at beautiful Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, the Wyndham Championship is the final regular-season event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup season – it sets the field for the FedExCup playoffs that begin the next week. Last year, Swedish superstar Henrik Stenson hoisted the Sam Snead Cup after an impressive one-stroke victory over rookie golfer Ollie Schneiderjans. Stenson’s name joined a former winner’s list boasting 18 World Golf Hall of Famers including eight-time champion Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros and three-time champion Davis Love III.

The Wyndham Championship was founded in 1938 and is the sixth-oldest event on the PGA TOUR excluding the Majors. The Wyndham Championship is the only regular-season PGA TOUR event contested on a course originally designed by Donald Ross. The 2018 tournament marks the 79th edition of North Carolina’s oldest professional golf event. For additional information including corporate partnerships, please visit www.WyndhamChampionship.com.
