A new career resource is available to benefit job seekers and those looking to enhance their skills in topics like networking, professionalism, and resume writing. Through our Forsyth Works programming, Greater Winston-Salem Inc. is launching the Career-Ready Credential. This 10-hour certification combines online learning modules with a half-day of in-person programming to complete the certification. The first cohort launches on August 3. Participants can enroll at any time, but must complete the online modules by September 18th.

Whether starting out in the workforce, searching for a new opportunity, or looking to grow within their current role or company, the Career-Ready Credential supports participants’ workplace skills. Participants will explore communication skills, conflict management, decision-making, collaboration, networking, and more. 

“These are foundational skills that greatly impact someone’s career growth, their ability to function on a team, and their employability overall. Even for people well into their careers it is helpful to focus on these topics and reflect on how they show up in their professional spaces,” says Terri Cummings, Vice President of Talent and Workforce for Greater Winston-Salem Inc.

Forsyth Works partners include Greater Winston-Salem Inc., Forsyth Tech, Forsyth County, Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC, and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The Career-Ready Credential program is free for participants. Upon completion of the online course and in-person workshop, participants will earn their credential badge through Credly.
