WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Inner Strength Pilates has announces Pilates for Pink!, a benefit for Susan G. Komen as well as a month-long campaign to educate others on how Pilates can promote breast cancer recovery.
“As we approach Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we hope to shed light on a different therapy for this diagnosis: Pilates to assist recovery,” said Amy Dixon, Owner of Inner Strength Pilates.
Many breast cancer survivors have already benefited from Pilates as it helps improve lymphatic drainage, aids in the breakdown of scar tissue and prevents frozen shoulder, restores range of motion, increases overall strength and endurance, as well as many other great benefits. Inner Strength Pilates has committed to the month of October to offering free classes throughout the month to breast cancer survivors.
“A special event will be held at the studio to kick off the month-long Pilates for Pink! campaign, shared Dixon. “We will host a floating event from 5 – 7 pm on October 4, 2013 to benefit Susan G. Komen, and to honor my friend and breast cancer survivor, Myrna. 100% of all donations and / or proceeds collected during this special event will be given to our local Susan G. Komen chapter.”
Pilates for Pink! classes will be offered throughout the month of October. Pilates for Pink! class sizes are limited, so breast cancer survivors who are interested should register online at https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ASP/home.asp?studioid=23302.
