The Aug. 19 Global Opportunities Summit at Grandover Resort promises to deliver presentations from some of the region’s highest-flying aviation companies.

The event will feature Kevin Carter, CEO of TIMCO, and Kip Blakely, TIMCO’s vice president of industry and government relations, speaking on TIMCO’s global investment case study. The event also will feature Samantha Magill, a flight science engineer from Honda Aircraft Co., which is developing a lightweight business jet at Piedmont Triad International Airport.

Penny Whiteheart, executive vice president of the Piedmont Triad Partnership, will speak on the region’s growing aviation cluster, and the agenda also includes four breakout panels on work force development, and global logistics, education and supplier competence. The event also will include a discussion on intercultural competence, featuring international dignitaries from China, Mexico, Israel and Ethiopia.

Mark Brazil will keynote the luncheon by recapping the 2014 75th Anniversary Wyndham Championship and the golf tournament’s global impact.

The second annual, day-long summit provides a fertile opportunity to meet and network with global leaders in manufacturing, service and education, said Cindy Thompson, executive director of Boundless Impact, which is organizing the event.
