The Enterprise Conference and Banquet Center, 1922 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, held its annual tasting on Thursday. A fun, new feature this year was a cook-off that included participating caterers.

With an estimated 200 people in attendance, the event was a fundraiser for S.G. Atkins Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit devoted to revitalizing neighborhoods around Winston-Salem State University. The tasting also promotes local caterers and the event services at the center.

“This event gives small businesses the opportunity to grow by introducing themselves and their brand to a new audience of consumers and helps the center to reinvest in the neighborhoods by offering potential part-time jobs to those who live in the community,” said Carol Davis, the executive director of the Atkins CDC.
