Visit Winston-Salem submitted Winston-Salem for “One of the Nicest Places in America” and Reader’s Digest has accepted the nomination!

Please help our city get to the top spot! If Winston-Salem wins, we will be featured in the Nov. issue of Reader’s Digest. We know so many of you have inspiring stories of triumph and/or host events that positively impact this community and reflect the true spirit of a city that is embracing, progressive, and overall NICE.

Here are the “rules” according to Reader’s Digest: “Every qualifying nomination will be published on our website, RD.com, which gets about 10-15 million readers each month. In our November issue, we’ll do a big spread on the ten Nicest Places with one making the cover. Our magazine reaches nearly 20 million readers in the U.S. every month. And, anecdotally, we’re hearing that 2017’s winner, Gallatin, TN, is seeing an uptick in commercial and residential activity since last year’s win. This year, the winning place will be unveiled on Good Morning America and Robin Roberts, one of its co-hosts, is one of our judges! You don’t want to miss out on the chance for that. It costs nothing to enter and the rewards could be huge.”

Here’s how to submit your story:

Go to RD.com/Nicest and follow the prompts to “nominate” no later than Tuesday, June 5.

PLEASE BE SURE TO USE ZIP CODE 27101 TO BE INCLUDED WITH WINSTON-SALEM’S NOMINATION.

Remember, the more heartwarming stories and pictures you share, the better chance Winston-Salem has of becoming a finalist!
