Grant Will Be Used to Expand College’s

Diesel and Heavy Equipment Program

 

WHAT:                 A representative for the Lawrence E. Pope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Pope Companies, based on Kernersville, will present a check of $26,000 (the first gift of the $52,000 grant) to Forsyth Tech. The gift will be used to expand the college’s Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology Program by helping to meet the challenges of increasing enrollment and rapidly changing technology. Through its philanthropic giving, the Pope Foundation is trying to focus awareness on the need for private support of education in the local and regional community.

Speakers will include:

  • Dr. Gary Green, President, Forsyth Tech
  • Jeff Taylor, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Pope Companies, and Treasurer, Lawrence E. Pope Foundation
