At the 2018 State of the Economy luncheon, we heard from Tim Lowe, President of Lowes Foods, about the ways consumers’ habits are changing and what impact those changes will have on the way retail does business in the future.
No one is more knowledgeable about facing the future of retail than Lowe, who has over 26 years of broad retail experience including previously serving as Executive Vice President of Merchandising for Supervalu. Tim’s broad career also includes positions with companies such as Wal-Mart and Meijer. He is a graduate of the University of Houston.
Tim and his wife, Karla, reside in Winston-Salem, NC and have four children. His oldest son, Brandon, and oldest daughter, Kellie, are both married. His son, Cameron, is the manager of Local Coffee in San Antonio, TX, and his daughter, Shelbi, attends Taylor University in Indiana. Tim has 7 grandchildren.
In addition to Lowe’s keynote address, the State of the Economy Luncheon featured the release of the annual publication, WS Works, the Chamber’s organizational and community report. Feature articles include Businesses that Use Drones, Unusual Entrepreneurs, and Outdoor Recreation Businesses. WS Works also contains the Chamber’s economic report – an annual snapshot of Greater Winston-Salem’s growth and economic development year-to-year.
All attendees will received a free copy of WS Works. If you would like copies of this publication, please contact Ethanie at 336-728-9211.
