The Chamber’s “Keep It Local” Campaign

“Keep It Local” And Support Our Economic Growth

As part of our mission to support local businesses, the Chamber launched the Keep It Local campaign in 2014. Our goal is to encourage everyone – businesses and residents – to use local vendors, shop in local stores, dine in local restaurants, and attend local events. And by “local,” we mean independent businesses as well as chains and franchises, which are owned or operated by local people and employ a large number of our friends and neighbors.

Look for our “Keep It Local” window cling near the entrance of a business as an indication that the owners of that business support our campaign. We appreciate their help in spreading the word!

Why is it important to “Keep It Local”?

  • Supporting local businesses keeps local people employed
  • Successful local businesses grow, increasing employment
  • Growth attracts growth, a healthy business environment attracts other businesses to this area
  • Local businesses and their employees pay taxes that support our schools, police, fire departments and more

How The Chamber “Keeps It Local”

Our goal with Keep It Local is to change the way people think about where they choose to spend their money and to increase awareness about how that choice impacts our community’s economic health. We are attempting to lead the way through programs like Keep It Local and our online business directory, but that’s not all we do. The Chamber also “keeps it local” in these ways:

We hope you will keep it local and help us support the local economy. If you are a business owner, we also invite you to join the Chamber to help us in our efforts.
